You might consider having a knowledgeable civil engineer review your airport project plans and specifications from a 3rd person’s perspective to:

• Reduce unnecessary impacts to the operations at your airport due to a lack of proper construction phasing.

• Reduce constructability conflicts where contractors will likely seek project change orders.

• Provide staff support when your airport does not have the personnel or the time that it takes to properly review a set of plans and specs.

* Check with your FAA Airport District Office (ADO) to determine whether they will allow you to hire an independent civil engineer as a reimbursable administrative line item expense!
